In my previous post, I had mentioned about 24 hours BP monitoring test and the results are out now!
Before going into the results and the outcome, a quick recap of why i was asked to the test in the first place.
When i met my GP in early 2022, she checked all my vital parameters and one of them was to measure the blood pressure. The numbers were moderately high, so she suggested I should do the 24 hours BP monitoring test.
So, what is 24 hours BP monitoring test?
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a method to measure your blood pressure on a continuous basis for 24 hours. Your blood pressure is measured even as you sleep. The ongoing data helps your healthcare provider get a more accurate picture of your blood pressure numbers. The results can confirm a high blood pressure diagnosis and guide treatment.

How did i go in my first 24 hours BP monitoring test?
The test was conducted on 14/03/2022 and the results are below:
Mean BP: 148/97; Awake: 153/101: Asleep: 138/89 -> Conclusion was Moderate Hypertension
Based on the results, I was put on medication.
At that time, my GP and I discussed If weight was only the primary reason for my Blood pressure or there are any other secondary reasons. To confirm this, I was asked to do scan for both my pancreas and Kidney functions. The results came out positive and the GP concluded weight was the only problem for blood pressure.
The only way I had, was to keep working hard and to reduce my weight!
Fast forward 2.5 years, I weigh between 80-82 kgs now with a total weight loss of 38.4 kgs
I met the doctor couple of weeks ago and suggested if i can take the 24 hours BP monitoring test again to see the outcome of the tests.
The test was conducted on 22/04/2024 and the results are below:
Mean BP: 120/75; Awake: 122/77; Asleep: 115/70 -> Normotensive Study (Normal Blood pressure)
Based on the results, the doctor suggested I can stop my BP medication, but I have to monitor my blood pressure for next 4 weeks and take the recordings..
What a fantastic result and outcome. I am super excited with the results and I hope you are also motivated to continue with your weight loss journey!
Always remember, health is the number one priority and everything else can wait!
