Bridge to Brisbane

After I started to build my stamina and endurance by walking 10,000 steps every day, I decided i will need to experience how it feels to participate in a event. I saw in TV about Bridge to Brisbane event happening in September 2023.

I made up my mind that i will give a try and experience how it feels to walk 10 kms. I was not confident enough to run, so decided to walk.

This was my first time event ever in my life. So, i was feeling excited, nervous all at the same time.

The 10 kms walking event was scheduled to commence at 7am. I wanted to go in early to soak in the atmosphere and found out that there was a train at 4.25 am which goes to the event. Initially I thought there would not be much crowd in the station and i was proven wrong. The train was buzzing with participants everyone keen to either walk or run. Everyone was given a different color to identify which event they were participating.

The event started with elite athletes doing their 10 kms run. I was spell bound when i found out that the winner completed their 10 kms run in 29 minutes..

My event started sharp at 7am. I started to walk with an target to complete it within 90 minutes or less.

I was skeptical and was not confident when i registered. But, the urge to finish got me over the line.
