It was Nov 2007, I got an opportunity to work for a client in Sydney, Australia. As everyone, I was excited to come, work and explore this beautiful country. Little i knew at that time, it will be the country where I will get settled.
I stayed with my work colleagues and as a bachelor, we all used to eat whatever we get, don’t care about what we eat, how much we eat.. all we need was FOOD!
During those days, there wasn’t any discipline, nor any awareness on how to live a healthy life style. We all used to slog long hours, work was our every day focus and priority, eat packaged food, sleep late night and repeat it every day. Days, Months, years rolled by but nothing changed!
I started to put on weight, my waist size grew bigger, my old clothes became orphans and i had to spend money to keep filling in my wardrobe with new clothes. I never learnt that i had to do something about my weight.
After my marriage, my eating habits never slowed down. How can someone expect me to resist when i am served samosas, kachori, vadai for evening tea and south indian dishes for breakfast and dinner. Yummy!
After lot of resistance, I joined a big fitness studio and went for fitness trainer.
I did not like the training, nor the tough regime i had to go through. I stopped attending the fitness studio, but the money was deducted every week… If i think about it now, that fitness studio should erect a statue of mine in front of their studios across Australia for paying them free money.. Lol
To be continued…
From being an reluctant starter to now not willing to miss a fitness session, how did it all happen?
So during my school days I was more than 100KG… Not so much into the fitness… I would love to eat everything what I saw… But one thing which changed me and motivated me in the fitness is one movie called “Varanam Aayiram”. From there I started entering to the Gym…. Concentrated on diet… And I reduced around 30 kg in 6 months…. It’s been more than 14 years…. Workout has become a part of my life… So that’s how my fitness journey started…
What an inspiration story Ranjith. If I am honest, thanks for inspiring me every day with your fitness regime and well done on your transformation!
